DEVOTION ~THE HOPE OF OUR CALLING

Theme: The Hope of Our Calling
Text: Ephesians 1:15-18

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints

Soul winning should not just end after leading the souls to Christ but much must be done to ensure these souls are firmly rooted in faith. There's the need to pray for these souls and as well seek for their spiritual nourishment. This has been perfectly done by the Apostle Paul and his team towards the Ephesians. It is the spiritual nourishment that awakes the souls of these ones to know their place in the Lord.

All spiritual and physical gifts come from God, therefore our prayer for such needs should be directed to God. The Lord says, he who lacks wisdom should ask Him and He shall give it freely (James 1:5). The spirit of wisdom and the revelation in the knowledge of God guides us as believers to be steadfast in faith. We apply faith where carnal wisdom fails to see possibilities in situations around us. We look unto Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith to lead us to an expected end.

The hope of our calling is in God's Word. We can only be abreast with it if we study the Word of God. The Holy Spirit enlightens the eyes of our understanding to know the hope of our calling in Christ Jesus. We have a heritage in Christ as cohier to the Kingdom of God. We are wealthy as we are endowed with all spiritual gifts through faith. Let us not live as though we have nothing to lay hold on. May the Holy Spirit empower us to walk in faith at all times to God's glory.

Prayer: Our hallelujah is in Your name O Lord for by Your mercies we have been redeemed and granted salvation. We pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to give us grace to grow in the knowledge of Your Word and to act to Your leading and prompting in all areas of our lives even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!
