DEVOTION ~ THE OMNIPRESENT GOD
Theme: The Omnipresent God
Text:Psalm 139:7-12
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
God has everything under His control from the time of creation to now. Nothing can be hidden from Him. The psalmist asked, "Where can I go from Your Spirit?" No one can flee from the presence of the Lord for He is every where at the same time. What a great God we serve. May His name be glorified.
The Lord's throne is in heaven and so His presence is there. Christ's death revealed the dead were seen by many people indicating how His presence in the grave pave way for the dead (Matthew 27:52&53) . Jonah when task to send God's Word to Nineveh, decided to flee from God's presence but little did he know even in the belly of that great fish, God still sees him (Jonah 1-2). This gives understanding why the psalmist said, if I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.
Darkness does not scare God for it was out of it He called forth light (Genesis 1:1-3). Dear beloved in the Lord, the power of God can deliver you from every form of darkness. The darkness around you can be sickness, reproach, disappointment amongst others. In all these, God's presence will give you the victory. The darkness and the light are both alike to God for that matter, He does His work with ease. You cannot hide from God's presence, so do well to present yourself holy and acceptable in His sight.
Prayer: There's no place I can flee to that Your presence cannot reach me. Thank you Lord for fixing Your eyes upon me. I pray the Holy Spirit helps me to do Your will wherever I will be even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!
Amen
