DEVOTION ~ THE PRESENT

Theme: The Present 
Text: Proverbs 17:8

8 A present is a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor; Wherever he turns, he prospers.


The heart of every man is gladden by the presence of gifts or presents. The best of gifts to man is Jesus Christ. It is an act of love from God (John 3:16). We ought to possess Christ with all joy. For in Him we are made complete.

We have Christ and so are possessors of the gift of God. Let us value Him as a precious stone and give Him the best place in our heart, mind, spirit and life. With Christ, we will prosper in all we do. He has the name above every name and all authority in the heavens, on the earth, beneath the earth and the seas are subject under Him. Nothing can function without Him giving way. 

Let's draw closer to the Father and lay hold of His precious gift for us. A chapter of your life without Christ is equivalent to a dead lion. You have no strength just as a dead lion cannot harm. May the Lord enlighten the eyes of our understanding to accept His divine present to the world.


Prayer: How wonderful it is to behold Your present to us. Thank You for not abandoning us to sin but rather giving us a second chance to enjoy of that glorious life usurped by the serpent of old. Help us by the enablement of the Holy Spirit to protect our possessions in Christ Jesus even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. He was a staunch Jew.  Some Characteristics of Apollos: √ Apollos was endowed with great knowledge and was very outspoken. DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
