DEVOTION ~ REFUGE UNDER GOD'S WINGS

Theme: Refuge Under God's Wings 
Text: Psalm 91:3-6

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.


In yesterday's devotion, we studied on how to abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We are continuing today with taking refuge under His wings. As children of God, we are not promised a challenge free live, rather God assured He will be with us throughout our struggles. His Word is a weapon to employ to overcome the adversary. 

When the wicked rise up against you, it is only God that can protect you from their evil plots. He will deliver you from the traps and manipulation of the wicked. As the hen stretches out its wings over the chicks, to protect them from predators, so will the feathers and wings of God cover you. The enemy cannot touch you because he will have to battle with the Lord in order to get at you.

God’s Word is the truth and it liberates anyone who employs it in life. Telling the truth takes away fear. Being truthful secures you from the terror by night; when you're surrendered by unfamiliar mean humans, keeping by the truth will give you confidence. The night could also be, moments you seem not to know what to do, you must keep to God's Word. The arrows that flies by day could be the schemes of people very dear to your heart trying to bring you down. The pestilence that walks in darkness are the unseen battles that you seem not to know what you're fighting. The destruction that lays waste at noonday are battles visible to you. But all these battles can be won only by the power of God. Abide under His wings and He will give you the victory.



Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your ever presence in every battle I face in life. Holy Spirit divine, help me to hold on to the truth at all times. I decree I have overcome every challenge in life by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am above evil schemes, bondages and all evil destruction at work against my life in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ have I prayed. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
