DEVOTION ~ FAITH OF THE PATRIARCH - ABRAHAM

Theme: Faith of the Patriarch - Abraham
Text: Hebrews 11:17-19

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,” 19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

It's usually easy to give the excess of what we have out, but difficult giving the only one thing we have out. Abraham was tested by God to sacrifice the son of the promise, amazingly he did it without murmuring, or even questioning God why he should do so. He acted in faith knowing that God will always fulfill His will. (Genesis 22:1-14; James 2:21)

The faith of Abraham in God laid the foundation of our redemption through Christ Jesus. To the glory of God, just as he wanted to sacrifice Isaac, God made a provision for a sacrificial lamb. For our redemption, Christ came to die for us that by Him we may have everlasting life through His divine resurrection and Ascension to heaven if we believe. (Genesis 21:12; John 3:16; Romans 9:7)

What is it that you have that God is demanding for? He wants to use that thing to bring about a pleasant transformation in your lineage. Your Isaac (what you possess) will birth your Christ (salvation, deliverance, breakthroughs, satisfaction, etc in every area of your life) if you let it to the Lord. Cheerfully give your Isaac in faith and God will raise up your Christ. Faith speaks into your future, for your act of faith today, speaks into the lives of generations after you.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the revelations of faith kept by my fathers of old. Forgive me for holding back the blessings You have given me for Your glory. I act in faith and lay them all before You to use them for Your glory even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
