DEVOTION ~ FAITH PLEASES GOD

Theme: Faith Pleases God
Text: Hebrews 11:5&6

5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

In yesterday's devotion, we learnt that the offering of Abel was accepted above that of his brother Cain because, he offered it in faith. Today, we will look at how to employ faith in pleasing God. Enoch was the first man taken up so that he did not taste death and was not found by any human being. The testimony about him was, he pleased God (Genesis 5:21-24).

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith for that reason, it is solely in Him we can please God. To please the Lord, we must believe in Jesus. Believing Jesus entails obedient to His command and directing others to do same. If we diligently seek the Lord, we will always find Him and the reward for seeking Him will locate every area of our lives. We must live our lives in the knowledge of the Word of God. (Hebrews 12:2; John 21:15-17)

We cannot please God if we do not know what His Word tells us to do. Therefore, we need to study the Word and meditate on it daily. This will enlighten our path in life (Psalm 119:105). Walking with the Lord births pleasing Him and it is crowned with His unfailing reward.

Prayer: Holy Spirit divine guide me as a pilgrim on this earth. Help me to walk faithfully with the Lord in every area of my life. May I please the Lord as I serve Him here on this earth even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
