DEVOTION ~ FAITH

Theme: Faith
Text: Hebrews 11:1-3

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

In these few days, we will be looking at faith and how our fathers of old demonstrated it in their days without missing the mark of God's approval. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; this implies faith is employed by believing even without any tangible proof that what you desire you have attained (John 20:29; Romans 8:24; 2 Corinthians 4:18; 5:7) .

In our Christian walk, we need to look up to God and not what we expect Him to do for us. The focus should be on the source of provision (God) and not the outcome (expectations) so as not to be discouraged. The elders of old depended hundred percent on God not their expectations and they obtained good testimony. Abraham trusted every Word of God even when Isaac wasn't conceived and he acted in faith willing to sacrifice Isaac when God instructed him because he knows God will always provide.

As we depend on God, then His nature must manifest in us. He formed the world by the Word of His mouth (Genesis1:3;6;9;11;14;20;24;26). Dear beloved in the Lord, our lips has the power to pull down and to build up by faith (Matthew 17:20-21; Proverbs 18:21; James 3:5). Prophetically, we must speak over every expectation of ours. We ought to command them to appear through the Word of God. The things which are seen were not made of things which are visible; before the manifestation of our expectations we need to display faith that we have them in every action we take.

Prayer: Father of all grace divine, thank You for impacting the power of the Holy Spirit upon us Your children. Spirit of the Living God, equip us to act in faith and to please the Father in all we do. By faith, we decree the month of February will bring us good news daily, sickness has no hold of our lives for the Blood of Jesus has given us healing and by the enablement of the Holy Spirit, all our expectations are manifesting early in Jesus' name. AMEN!
