DEVOTION ~ OBEDIENT IN FAITH

Theme: Obedient in Faith
Text: Hebrews 11:8-10

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

On the 13th February 2020, we discussed Abraham's faith captioned "Faith does the unthinkable." We would be building on that in today's devotion. To please God, you need faith. Abraham heard from God to move out of his zone of comfort to the unknown zone. It took him obedience and faith in God to step out. If our faith lacks obedience, it will be difficult to employ it.

Being obedient in faith guides our path not to go contrary to God's directives. Abraham and his seeds did not dispossessed the occupants of their land of promise until the opportune time came (Genesis 26:1-6;12-33). For he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Dear beloved in the Lord, Christ Jesus is our foundation, we must not lay a block in any area of our lives without His approval. By this, our lives will be transformed and our generations will enjoy every benefit of God's divine blessings that comes with keeping faith in obedience.

Prayer: Father, give me the heart and mind to be obedient to Your will for my life. Strengthen my faith Spirit of the Living God to never be discouraged as I heed the instructions of the Lord even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I asked. AMEN!
