DEVOTION ~ OFFER RIGHTLY
Theme: Offer Rightly
Text: Matthew 5:23&24
23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
In today's devotion, we will be looking at how to offer rightly in the presence of God. Offering is often done as giving back to the Lord in gratitude. It is usually a part of the fellowship process. The hand that stretches to give in the House of God, must have a clean heart and mind towards others.
It is important to fulfill the commandment of love in the presence of God. You can't hold grudges against your neighbor and say you love God; if the brother or sister beside you whom you can see can't be shown love, how do you love God that you've not seen? In that regard, your offerings must be presented after you have reconciled with your brother or sister.
Dear beloved in the Lord, have you given rightly in the presence of God? If you still have issues with others, it's time to forgive, be forgiven and reconcile with them. Never present your offerings with an embittered heart, let love overflow in your heart and the blessings of God will locate every sphere of your life.
Prayer: Father, as I present my offerings before You, so I offer my whole life to You. Holy Spirit of the Living God, direct my heart and mind to do the will of God in all that I do. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O God. This I pray in Christ Jesus. AMEN!
