DEVOTION ~ PRICELESS BUT FREE

Theme: Priceless But Free
Text: Isaiah 55:1-3

55 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.

God has shown and proven many times that, as human as we are, we will always look upon our weaknesses and wretchedness never to draw closer to Him. However, He is merciful, loving and caring that He will accept us just as we are. It is only God, who can satisfy the thirst of our lives which will not cost us a thing. The call to life in Christ Jesus is a free gift of God. Milk and wine are symbolisms of wealth, the spiritual riches in Christ as well as the physical is what we are being called to for free.

In Christ, we possess the power to command and establish whatever we need as pilgrims through faith. If we so have this endowment, why do we waste our lives on unprofitable things? We are called to listen carefully so as to eat what is good, and let our soul delight itself in abundance. In Christ there's abundance of life but destruction and death knocks at the door of those who walk in darkness. (Job 22:28&29; John 10:10)

Let us incline our ear, and come to God so our soul shall live. We will be made anew in Christ and given a new identity. And God will make an everlasting covenant with us— The sure mercies of David solely found in Christ Jesus. This calling to redemption is priceless but free, do not waste your life.

Prayer: Dear God, we appreciate Your free gift of life in Christ Jesus who laid down His life for us. Forgive us for the moments we scorn Your calling for worthless things. We pray the life of Christ reflects daily in all we do even now and forevermore in His name have we prayed. AMEN!
