DEVOTION ~ THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

Theme: The Blood of Christ
Text: Ephesians 2:11-13

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Do you remember your first time being welcomed as a member of the faith, an employment/job, club or group? You kept hearing you're welcome to join us; you were being welcomed because, you met the criteria (born again, passed the interview, etc). Whoever does not meet the requirements cannot be called a member. So it was with the Circumcision of old; it was a seal of covenant between God and the seeds of Abraham. Anyone not of the Circumcision, is a Gentile (a non Jewish person or a person of the world). (Genesis 17)

That belongingness is made of the flesh as an evidence that one belongs to the covenant of the Circumcision. However, what's more than this has come to reconcile both the circumcised and uncircumcised to God. This divine intervention came to being through the Blood of Jesus Christ. Anyone who believes in the saving Blood of Jesus, breaks off from being an alien to become a child of divine promise. The criminal on the cross (a non Jewish person) attain salvation through faith in Jesus. (Romans 2:28; Colossians 2:11; Luke 23:39-43)

The Blood of Jesus speaks forgiveness, redemption and reconciliation for any sinner that draws nearer to the Blood. Therefore, there's no more distinction between the circumcised and the uncircumcised. For all have received grace through the Blood to become children of God. (Hebrews 12:22-24)

Prayer: Oh! The Blood of Jesus that washes away our sins to be white as snow, You are an incomparable God. Take glory for adopting us as Your own. Strengthen us by the Holy Spirit to remain faithful to this seal of covenant in every sphere of our lives and in all that we do. This we pray for in Jesus' name. AMEN!
