DEVOTION ~ CHRIST IS RISEN

Theme: Christ is Risen
Text: Luke 24:4-7

4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

Today marks the resurrection of Christ on the Christian calendar and it's Easter Sunday. Hurray! Our Lord overcame death, the grave and hades that we equally should be empowered to overcome them as well. There are great lessons from the encounter of an empty tomb by the women who first got there and later the disciples. The text for consideration today is on the women and their encounter with the Angels of God.

We often become anxious and worry for nothing when in fact what we've hoped for or prayed for has been delivered to us. The hope of these women was that, the stone should be rolled away but did not see its essence when it did. It's clearly evident, it's not the stone that they desired to be rolled rather, to see the Lord. If we fail to pray rightly, our desires will not be satisfied. We ought to ASK rightly when we are before the Lord for by so doing, the women received angelic assistance. It was when they became conscious that they should look for the Lord that the Angels appeared.

When the presence of God manifest in our lives, we need to bow (humble ourselves) in other to fully enjoy the blessings that comes with it. Humility opened the door for these women to know the state of the Lord. The question posited by the Angels (Why do you seek the living among the dead?) is relevant to be asked in our lives as well. Just as God raise Christ to live, He has revived and given life in all things that concerns us but we are too choked with the worries of this age to see them. The Christian journey is not a trial free one, but God has also not said, deliverance wouldn't come. Victory comes with the risen Christ and whosoever is associated with Him receives it.

Prayer: Hosanna it is we shouted, and Your glory was revealed giving us the joy to shout even louder, Christ is risen! By this resurrection, we declare all things that ought to come alive in our lives receive speedy manifestation, performance and divine establishment now in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
