DEVOTION ~ A LIVING STONE

Theme: A Living Stone 
Text: 1 Peter 2:4&5

4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.



Couple of days ago, we learnt about Jesus being the Chief Cornerstone upon which believers are laid. In today's devotion, we will be looking at Jesus being the Living Stone. He is the Rock of ages from creation, through the dispensation of Moses to this very age. Whoever draws near Him does that to attain life. 

Jesus is the resurrection and the life, a precious Vessel chosen by God to bring life to as many as believe in Him. Though the world rejected Him, He is the hope of the world. Anyone who believes in Him, He transforms to have the nature of the Living Stone. Dear beloved in the Lord, you're a living stone because you've been laid on Christ Jesus. It is therefore expected of you to live a life of the priesthood lineage by presenting yourself worthy as an acceptable sacrifice to the Lord. You do not just offer the spiritual sacrifice but avail yourself also for God to use you for His glory. You possess the nature of the Living Stone, Speak life to every situation in your life. 


Prayer: Dear God, I'm nothing without You. I come therefore to You my Living Stone and hope. Empower me by the Holy Spirit to live in fulfilling Your purpose in every area of my life. Accept my life as a pleasing sacrifice for Your glory in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
