DEVOTION ~ THE PURE MILK

Theme:The Pure Milk
Text: 1 Peter 2:1-3

2 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.


The journey as a Christian begins with birth; being born again is the sign of this new birth. It's not a carnal birth but a spiritual one though we could clearly see how one surrenders to God. As an infant in the Lord, it is expected of you to behave as a child in malice, and all forms of evil by not engaging in them but in understanding of the Word of God, you ought to be matured. (1 Corinthians 14:20)

You're called to resist the edge to do evil by desiring the pure milk of the Word of God. Just us you obtain nutrients in food so does the Word of God in nourishing you. It becomes your standard of living and shapes you to become a better child of God. The pure milk of the Word is the joy of the believer in the Lord.

Dear beloved in the Lord, taste and see the goodness of God through His Word. When you increase in the knowledge of of His Word, you will gain better understanding of what manner of power you have been given to command and it shall be established without fail. God is gracious to us at all times and His mercy endures forever towards us. Do not in anyway divert from this precious grace of God for that's what redeems you from damnation. (Psalm 34:8; Hebrews 6:5)


Prayer: All to You my God I surrender my life; I give up on evil speaking, wicked thoughts, and all forms of sins. I give my all to You O God. Take my life and consecrate it for Your glory. Give me the mind of a child not to do evil but a matured mind to understand Your ways and please You in all that I do even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
