DEVOTION ~ WOMEN, DIVINE TOOLS
Theme: Women, Divine Tools
Text: Luke 24:8-12
8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.
Hallelujah! We're still recalling the account of the resurrection in the perspective of women. Women have been with the Lord from the time of His arrest, trial, crucifixion, death, and burial. On the first day of the week, these women visited the tomb and returned with the Good News of Christ's resurrection. Having been spoken to by Angels, they got the understanding of the reason of an empty tomb.
The Ministry of Christ after the resurrection began with women. Not just any, but women who were devoted in the things of the Lord. Dear beloved in the Lord, it's important for us as members of the body of Christ to train our daughters, sisters, aunties, and mothers to desire to do the things of God. Let us not suppress the gift of God in them by discouraging them from partaking in church duties. A word of encouragement is needed to push them to do more.
At the beginning, the narrative of Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, about the risen Christ was like idle tales but when the apostles encountered Christ, they believed. Dear lady reading, people may not see your worth today, but don't be discouraged. Keep doing the good things, enhanced yourself academically and with some livelihood skills to put you in shape. Your Peter will marvel at the empty tomb (the great wonders the Lord is using to do) then it shall be seen by all. You're a divine tool for the gospel, nurturing your family, transforming your workplace, community and the world.
Prayer: Dear God, we pray for all women and girls today, that they may be encouraged in the things of the Lord. Grant them divine wisdom and empower them to make the world a better place to live. This we ask in Christ Jesus our Lord. AMEN!
