DEVOTION ~ DIVINE FOOD
Theme: Divine Food
Text: John 4:31-33
31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”
In today's devotion, we will be looking at the theme, "Divine Food". Let's quickly recall Jesus' early hours after the forty days and night fasting; the devil came tempting Him to change stones into loafs of bread. But Jesus responded man must not live by bread alone but by every Word of God. The Word of God is a divine food to anyone who reads and meditate on it. This food nourishes you to have a better perspective of life's demands. You are more able to control your fleshly desire or appetite.
When the disciples brought the food, they expected the Lord to eat but He wasn't concerned about food. They urge Him to eat however, He replied them saying; “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” The kind of food Jesus is talking about is not the ordinary food rather, the food of the spirit. Have you ever been overjoyed such that you only realized you've not eaten the whole day late in the evening? That's how you will feel satisfied if you do God's will. Your nothing or little will meet all your needs if you rely on God in all things. People will marvel how you made it despite your challenges in life. Draw near to the Word of God daily to taste of its delicacies.
Prayer: Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, open the eyes of my understanding to Your Word that I may daily eat of it. I receive nourishment from the Word to grow in stature, mind and in the spirit even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
