DEVOTION ~ DO YOU KNOW THE CHRIST?

Theme: Do You Know the Christ? 
Text: John 4:27-30

27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?” 28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him



The story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well has a whole lots of insights for us all. In today's devotion, we will be looking at the theme, "Do you know the Christ?" Having heard the Messiah, she couldn't keep the secret to herself so she went all out to the city to the tell the men her encounter that blessed afternoon. There are days we sometimes don't even understand the actions of our friends and that's exactly the case of the disciples. 

They marveled what exactly the Lord will be discussing with a Samaritan woman. The best way to move and understand people's action is silence and observation. Demanding explanation from people for every slightest action taken will not help you know them better. If the disciples had accused Jesus falsely, they would have been highly embarrassed by the crowd that returned with the woman. Learn to give privacy to others when need be. 

When good things locate us, we often forgo what was our pressing need for it. The woman came to draw water but when she encountered the Supernatural, she left the pot to proclaim His Majesty. Do not waste divine opportunities for anything. You can't encounter Christ and know it all. You'll need to learn more of Him from matured Christians. It is for this reason you must never forseek the assembly of the saints/believers. The more you associate with the faithful, the better your knowledge about Christ. Reflect on your Christian life and answer the question, "Do you know the Christ?"


Prayer: Dear God, I want to know better than I know myself. Grant me a studying spirit to study and meditate on Your Word daily. Holy Spirit, help me to associate with the right people at all time. This I pray in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked.
