DEVOTION ~ EVERYDAY IS A SABBATH

Theme: Everyday is a Sabbath 
Text: Luke 14:1-3

14 Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely. 2 And behold, there was a certain man before Him who had dropsy. 3 And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”


What do you use the Lord's sacred moments to do? Don't forget every seconds of your life on earth is a sacred moment with God. You cannot value some days as better than other days and so set that day aside to do the right thing. Each day must be used wisely and to glorify God. Everyday of the believer's life must be a Sabbath, a holy day for the Lord.

Though Jesus was not invited to heal, yet when his eyes caught up with the man with dropsy, His focus turned to Him. Jesus asked, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” Dear beloved in the Lord, yes, it is lawful to do good everyday. The slightest chance you get to help others should not go wasted. Help as many people as you can daily. 



Prayer: Abba! Father, awaken my inner man to the realization of Your presence daily in my life. Teach me to serve to bring honour to your Holy Name. This I pray in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
