DEVOTION ~ WITNESSING

Theme: Witnessing
Text: John 4:39-42

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

In our previous study, we discussed how the Samaritan woman went to call the men of the city to come see if the man who told her all she has ever done is the Messiah. The outcome of that calling is what we will be studying today. She witness the power of God and testified of it to many. The catalyst to spreading the Gospel is having a personal experience of it. You can easily recall vividly your own testimony than that of others.

The people believed the woman's testimony before they encountered the Christ. Has the Lord done something great for you that you're withholding from others? Do you think it's unnecessary to bother others with your little testimony? That's the voice of deceit trying to hinder you from witnessing to others. If the Samaritan woman had concluded, what Christ told her isn't any news in her life, she wouldn't have drawn many souls to God.

The more you listen to or study the Word of God, the better your knowledge and understanding of the Lord, and the power of His glory. As the crowd paid attention to Christ, their faith increased and they attest to the fact that Jesus is the Christ. They who have been given a testimony, have now witnessed it and are publicly sharing their experiences. Take time out of your schedule today to tell someone about your experience in the Lord.

Prayer: Dear God, there's no end to understanding who You are. For each moment is a miracle with You. You have kept to Your Word and done great things for me and all that is mine. Touch my lips to open and testify of Your glory in all that I do that I may draw souls to Your Kingdom. This is my prayer in Christ Jesus' name. AMEN!
