DEVOTION ~ INSTRUCT DILIGENTLY 2

Theme: Instruct Diligently 2
Text: Romans 2:21-24

21 You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? 22 You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? 24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.

We are continuing yesterday's devotion on the theme, "Instruct Diligently". Dear beloved in the Lord, as we mentioned yesterday, it's not just about lip-services but actions to demonstrate how efficient you are as an instructor.

Be what you teach or preach and not otherwise. For what you teach speaks back at you; you're the example of what you teach others. If you fail to live that examplary life, your instructions do not carry weight. What it does is, to lead those who you Instruct to blasphemy the name of the Lord. You listeners are unable to give glory to God because, your life gives them the impression, it's not worth it living to honour God. Let your light shine before men that they may give glory to God.

Prayer: Prayerfully sing Charles Wesley's song, "A Charge to Keep I Have"

A charge to keep I have,
A God to glorify,
A never dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky.

To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfill:
O may it all my powers engage
To do my Master's will!

Arm me with jealous care,
As in Thy sight to live;
And O Thy servant, Lord, prepare
A strict account to give!

Help me to watch and pray,
And on Thyself rely,
Assured if I my trust betray,
I shall forever die. AMEN!

Comments

  1. Amen!
    Indeed, leadership by example.
We should live by principles to prove positivity to others to emulate.
May the grace helps us all in our endeavors, Amen!!
