DEVOTION ~ INWARD CIRCUMCISION
Theme: Inward Circumcision
Text: Romans 2:25-29
25 For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 26 Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? 27 And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law? 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.
The Jew of old hold on to the promise of the circumcision and condemns anyone who isn't circumcised. But their circumcision amounts to nothing when they fail to keep the law. Likewise is anyone who continually continue to sin under the umbrella of grace.
Dear beloved in the Lord, in Christ we have been circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh. Sin has no hold with us, for we have been made anew in Christ. By this, we have become the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. This is a divine inward circumcision that binds us with the Father. Flee from sin and embrace holiness that you may walk faithfully with the Lord.
Prayer: My heart, mind and will I surrender completely to You o my God. Give me a touch and transform my ways to please You in all that I do. I recognize Christ's circumcision in my life and so I declare my life is for Him even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!
