DEVOTION ~ LIFE IS A BUDGET
Theme: Life is a Budget
Text: Luke 14:28-30
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?
In yesterday's devotion, we studied on the cost of being a disciple of Christ. We are continuing with how to budget one's life. Nothing happens by chances rather based on the decisions we make in life. Whatever we intend to do, we ought to estimate the cost to be incurred and weigh with our ability to accomplish it successfully.
The text for consideration looked at how one ought to plan for a building least he is unable to complete the building. Our experience in this world must also be budgeted well so we do not loose our salvation. We need to plan as disciples of Christ not to loose the crown of glory that awaits us on the Day of the Lord. Live in God's will and abide by His Word. It will be a shame on our part if we slug in the things of the Lord and those of the world begin to point fingers at us saying, ‘This man began to build (accepted Jesus Christ) but was not able to finish (remain faithful to the end)’.
In as much as we yearn for our salvation, we also ought to look at our social life as individuals. Whatever we want to accomplish must be planned well so we don't it mess up at the final stage. May the Holy Spirit give us divine guidance through life.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, grant me the wisdom to know what I must pursue in life and how best to go about. AMEN!
Amen
