DEVOTION ~ NEW LIFE IN CHRIST

Theme: New Life in Christ
Text: 2 Cor. 5 :16-19

16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.


To have a new life in Christ Jesus, one needs to be born again. This is from the anchor scripture of the Messiah's interaction with Nicodemus (John 3). To be born again implies total surrender to God through Jesus Christ in physical and spiritual baptism. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer but in a new transformed way. 

A new life in Christ Jesus entails:
A distinction in one's old nature from the new nature in Christ Jesus by
❤️ Desiring and yearning to the will of God by imitating Christ - Luke 22:42
❤️ Having the righteousness of Christ - 2 Corinthians 5:21
❤️ Possessing a forgiving spirit - Ephesians 4:31-32, Luke 23:43
💓 Be an ambassador of Christ - 2 Corinthians 5:20
❤️ Love unconditionally - John 13:34-35

As a new man in Christ, let not the old nature have its gratification over your life again. Be like Christ in all things. 


Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for the grace of salvation. Help me to keep my garment pure and clean. Renew my mind and heart in the things of the Lord that I may serve You well even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
