DEVOTION ~ TASTELESS SALT

Theme: Tasteless Salt 
Text: Luke 14:34&35

34 “Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”



As dear beloved children of God, we are the salt of the earth. We seasoned the world with the Word of God and His love to all humanity. It is in our actions that people get to know us as Christians not by saying it. Salt is tasty and makes food pleasant for eating. However, when it is tasteless, it is worthless. It will not be good for preservation or any significant thing again. 

Any child of God who lacks the nature of God is as a tasteless salt. The absence of God's nature gives room for the devil to manipulate the individual. You can't be seasoned to conform to the will of God unless you avail yourself for the Holy Spirit to manifest in you. You cannot serve two masters, you either love one or hate the other. Surrender to God resist the devil and he will flee from you so you can serve God faithfully. If you don't want to loose your heaven status, and be thrown into hell, direct your heart towards God and do His will. 


Prayer: Come Holy Spirit of God and direct my life. Guide me that I may not loose my taste as a salt to the earth. Help me to abide in God's divine hedge and will even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
