DEVOTION ~ THE LETTER

Theme: The Letter
Text: Titus 1:1-4

Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior; To Titus, a true son in our common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

The life of the Apostle Paul has been spent mostly in prison yet he isn't discouraged to write letters to his fellows in the faith. His letter to Titus has this beginning to introduce himself and to greet his listeners. His introduction of himself gives authentication that he wrote the letter and addressing it to a specific individual or the church.

We will suffer many things for the Lord but count it all as joy for the end is filled with glorification. Be ready to pursue truth in godliness as there is a hereafter. God's promises are Ye and Amen! His assurance of eternal life has been from of old; the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ confirms an eternal life journey after this physical state. Live every moment in hope for this gracious eternal life.

Our journey as Christians should not lack the spirit of mentoring. Titus is a spiritual son for the Apostle Paul. We ought to also have spiritual sons and daughters teaching them to observe the command of God in holiness. Our pleasantries should be to seek God's grace, mercy and peace for each other. Possess the affectionate spirit of God in all you do.

Prayer: Dear God, grant me the enablement by the power of the Holy Spirit to serve You faithfully irrespective of the times; whether pleasant or not. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
