DEVOTION ~ YOUNG FOR THE LORD

Theme: Young for the Lord
Text: Titus 2:6-8

6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Two days ago, we looked at how the elderly men ought to conduct themselves. Today, we will look at the young men. Having all the energy to move about with ease, a young man in the Lord should direct such energies to the glory of God. Humility is needed to heed instruction and to act accordingly. He must follow the path of good deeds ensuring that the Lord's will work greatly in him.

What one says does show the manner of person he is. A young man in the Lord should be mindful of his utterances least he is judge by his own words. He must not engage in corrupt practices neither allow himself to be corrupted by the passions of this age. His life should defeat the intentions of the wicked that none can condemn him in anyway. Everyday should be lived for the Lord and not for the devil.

Prayer: Dear God, we bring before you all young men in the church, our families, communities and nations. We ask that Your excellent Hands preserve them from the works of darkness and direct them to see Your glory. May they be zealous for Your Kingdom advancement in all areas of their lives in Jesus' name. AMEN!
