DEVOTION ~ GOD'S SUFFICIENT SPIRIT
Theme: God's Sufficient Spirit
Text: 2 Corinthians 3:4-6
4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
In yesterday's devotion, we learned that we are Christ's epistle. In today's devotion we will look at God's sufficient Spirit that is at work in us. The carnal desire is insatiable but when the Spirit of God leads, He grants us the spirit of sufficiency. It is the grace of God through His Spirit that abounds with us that gives us sufficiency not our own will. We have therefore been called through this sufficient grace to disciple nations.
Dear beloved in the Lord, we have been made ministers to the new covenant in Christ Jesus and not by the law of Moses. The letter (the law) given to Moses limits, as anyone who transgresses one of the laws, has transgressed all the law. It leads to death. However, the grace of sufficiency gives us life to propel us to stand firmly in advancing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin, death and damnation.
Prayer: Most gracious Father, thank You for the sufficiency of Your grace at work in me. Teach me to walk in Your grace in all purity, holiness and faithfulness. I tap into all the benefits that comes with the new covenant and I declare I have eternal life in Christ Jesus' name. AMEN!
Amen!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the grace is sufficient. May the grace continue to lift us all in Jesus name, Amen!!
