DEVOTION ~ LIVING WATER

Theme: Living Water
Text: John 7:37-39

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

As humans, we have both spiritual and physical needs. The physical needs can easily be satisfied by ourselves or depend on others for it. However, the spiritual needs can solely be satisfied by the Holy Spirit. The voice of Christ is calling to all who thirst spiritually to come to Him. Anyone who willingly draws nearer to Christ to quench his spiritual thirst shall have a heart flowing with rivers of living water.

This flow of rivers of living water is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is with us who believe in the name of the Lord. For our Christ has been glorified; suffered the death on the cross, was buried, raised from the dead and is now seated with God in glory. The Holy Spirit possesses the fruit of the Spirit and diverse gifts that He endows on anyone who walks in the path of the Lord. He transforms and renews our heart and mind to the things of God. Are you spiritually empty and thirsty? Invite the Holy Spirit now.

Prayer: Come O Holy Spirit and fill our hearts with the fruit of the Spirit and divine gifts from heaven. As You dwell in us, make us possess Your nature to live worthy of our calling in the Lord. This we pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN!
