DEVOTION ~ OUT OF GALILEE
Theme: Out of Galilee
Text: John 7:50-53
50 Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them, 51 “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?” 52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.” 53 And everyone went to his own house.
In yesterday's devotion, we studied that, we should be aware of the Pharisees of our lives that do not add to our spiritual health but inject deficiencies. We are continuing today to look at the theme, "Out of Galilee". Galilee is a small town that can't boast of anything good coming out of it; no prophet ever came out of it, so how can the Messiah have His root from there? That's the ideology of the Pharisees except for Nicodemus who had had an encounter with the Lord secretly by night.
Nicodemus questioned them, “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?” The intent must be known before one must be judged. If you do not know the intent, how do you judge? This was what Nicodemus was asking his colleagues. Do not give room for people to discourage you or condemn the power of God at work in your life just because they are not seeing what they want to see. You're from Galilee, and you're loaded with surprises, signs and wonders.
Your situation today might seem not pleasant but keep in mind if Galilee can produce a Messiah, then great things will manifest in your favour. Your Galilee (small beginnings) will end in praise. Don't give up trust God to perfect His will in your life. Your accusers will see the Mighty Hands of God work marvelous things in your life.
Prayer: Dear God, in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare my life is a testimony just as my Saviour came out of Galilee. In vain will people despise me for the power of the Holy Spirit will continually perform marvelous miracles in all things that concerns me to Your glory. AMEN!
