DEVOTION ~ THE GOOD WINE
Theme: The Good Wine
Text: John 2:9-12
9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. 12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
In yesterday's devotion, we looked at how we ought to heed to divine instructions by just doing what God has instructed us to do. We are continuing today to look at the good wine Jesus had provided at the marriage ceremony. The servant carried out the instruction to draw the water and served the master of the ceremony. Unknown to him it was water, after drinking it said the good wine has been kept until now. The good wine is a symbolism of God's endless and incredible miracles, signs and wonders in the believer's life.
Dear beloved in the Lord, the good wine commenced by divine intervention. When the Lord's grace locates any area of your life, you begin to experience a new beginning not an end. To the master of the ceremony, the good wine was introduced almost at the end of the event because he had no idea where it was coming from. Don't give room to people who know nothing about your divine success to conclude it for you. Let them know, your breakthroughs, testimonies and successes have just started not ending. So long as you remain in Christ and focused on Him in all things, the grace that began with you will bring you to a glorious end.
The presence of God abides where He is given honour and recognition. The first miracle began in Galilee but did not record a lot of other divine miracles because the people never honored nor recognized Jesus for who is. As your testimonies have begun, do well to honour and recognize God for all the benefits you are enjoying so as to attract much more glory. The good wine (breakthroughs, testimonies and successes) of the Lord never runs out in the lives of the faithful souls.
Prayer: Dear God, I regret of my pumpous ways that never honored Your name. Forgive me and give me a submissive spirit in all that I do. I declare in You are all good gifts and benefits, and so as I unite with You, my life shall experience endless possibilities, breakthroughs and testimonies in Jesus' name. AMEN!
