DEVOTION ~ REJOICE WITH OTHERS

Theme: Rejoice With Others
Text: Exodus 18:7-9

7 So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their well-being, and they went into the tent. 8 And Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the Lord had delivered them. 9 Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

In yesterday's devotion, we looked at Jethro, Moses' father-in-law who played a significant role in the absence of Moses. Upon hearing of Moses' return, he set out to meet him with his wife and children. Today's devotion will focus on Jethro meeting Moses under the theme rejoice with others. To rejoice means having a great joy or delight for someone or a thing.

Moses was filled with great joy seeing his father-in-law so he gladly welcomed him. Guests must be received with great joy in every Christian home. Pleasantries must be exchanged like how Jethro and Moses each asked about the other's well-being. Testimonies drive the faith of others to trust the Lord more. Moses shared his testimony with his father-in-law about how God dealt with his adversaries as they journeyed from Egypt to their present settlement. You must equally share your testimonies with other believers about the mighty doings of the Lord.

Dear beloved in the Lord, do you rejoice when testimonies are shared or do otherwise? As you rejoice with others, you pray into their testimony to manifest in your life as well. Your joy is not solely to the one sharing the testimony but you're giving honour to God's name and it will attract blessings into your life. Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. Rejoice always!

Prayer: To Your name alone be glory and honour O God for the great and mighty things You have done for me and others around me. I declare my rejoicing in the Lord will continually put a new song in my mouth and renew my youth like the eagle's in Jesus' name. AMEN!
