DEVOTION ~ THE SPIRIT OF LIBERTY
Theme: The Spirit of Liberty
Text: 2 Corinthians 3:15-18
15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
In yesterday's devotion, we looked at how the veil hindered the Israelites direct access to the glory of God. The veil clouded their sense of reasoning, imagination and the boldness of speech though they were addressed as God's own nation. In this dispensation, anyone who does not abide in Christ still have the veil at work in him/her such that, the individual lacks understanding of the Word of God; his/her heart does not believe or embrace the truth.
Dear beloved in the Lord, do you see yourself in the description given above? There's a way out for you, for when you turn to the Lord, the veil will be taken away. When the veil is lifted, the Holy Spirit comes in to open the eyes of your understanding into the truth. He comes in to give you liberty. You will no longer be tangled in the deceitful powers of darkness but attain liberty to walk freely in the Light. The boldness of God takes absolute control over your life and transforms you into His image (the original purpose for man). This attained image of God, reflects His glory in you at all times taking you from glory unto glory in every area of your life.
Prayer: Abba! Father, in You is the fullness of liberty and You give it to anyone who comes to You. I surrender this day in Your presence and ask You take my life and let it be consecrated to You. Come Holy Spirit, take me to the place of liberty and let Your glory reign in my life and that of my spouse, children, family, ministry, career, finances, projects, education, and all that concerns me. In Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
Amen!
