DEVOTION ~ EXCELLENT NAME

Text: Hebrews 1:3&4

3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.


In yesterday's devotion, we looked at Christ being the appointed heir and we are continuing today to look at His excellent name. Jesus is the brightness of God's glory. He is our Light and His brightness cannot be comprehended by darkness. He is the expressed image of God. Anyone who sees Christ has seen the Father, for the Father and son are one.

Christ upholds all things by the word of His power. His Word is full of authority and power and it does not return void to Him. It accomplishes that for which it was sent. He has been sent by the Father to redeem the lost through His death. By His Blood our sins have been washed away. He died, was buried, resurrected on the third day and has ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God awaiting the Day of Judgement.

By virtue of Christ's humility, He has obtained an excellent name above all other names in the heaven, earth, beneath the earth, and the sea. He has been exalted because of submissiveness which is a nature of Christ that must manifest in us as His followers (disciples). Let's learn to do the Father's will without complaining or compromising it.


Prayer: Dear God, take me through the school of humility that every nature of pride in me will be broken. Grant unto me a cheerful heart by the enabling grace of the Holy Spirit to accept Your will and perform it accordingly in every area of my life. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

    A good name indeed is better than riches. May our actions and inactions portray good name in Jesus name, Amen!!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
