DEVOTION ~ THE LORD IS HIS NAME

Theme: The Lord is His Name
Text: Amos 5:8&9

8 He made the Pleiades and Orion; He turns the shadow of death into morning and makes the day dark as night; He calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth; The Lord is His name. 9 He rains ruin upon the strong, so that fury comes upon the fortress.

Nature displays its beauty at all times without fail. When we lift our heads up in the night, we see countless starts and the moon that adorn the sky with much beauty. The night comes so does the day and each with its elements to show off; the dark is called night and the light as day. This has been from the beginning of time when creation was set in motion. The Creator is the Lord God Almighty. In Him is the power of life and death; His mercies delivers us from being damned and the destructive power of death through Christ Jesus.

He determines how far the seas can come to the earth; how far each man could be tested. For no temptation has overtaken us except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that we may be able to bear it. He subjects the proud and arrogant to humility and exalts the humbled. This is to serve as a guide to us, to walk in humility before the Lord. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Prayer: Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I See the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy Power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How Great Thou Art! How Great Thou Art! AMEN!
