DEVOTION ~ OIL OF GLADNESS

Theme: Oil of Gladness 

Text: Hebrews 1:8&9

8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

The nature of Christ is countless for there's no limit to it. Yesterday, we studied that, Christ is the firstborn of the resurrection and God has exalted Him above the angels. Today, we will be looking at the anointing upon His life dubbed the oil of gladness. Oil has been a significant tool amongst the children of God before Christ, during His earthly stay and after His departure to heaven. Oil is used for anointing kings, it is a symbolism of greatness, favour, and divine blessings from God.

Jesus is a part of the Triune God and He rules with the scepter of righteousness. His reign is devoid of lawlessness, corruption, and evil deeds. By His righteous judgment, the hearts of His subjects are gladden. This is because He possesses the anointing of gladness which is evident in His judgment. There's no better gladness outside the Kingdom of God. It's only a temporal pleasure that produces regrets and pain to anyone who seeks it outside God's Kingdom. Dear beloved in the Lord, you need the oil of gladness to enlighten your heart and all that you do. Speak to Jesus about it today.

Prayer: Dear God, I humble myself before You this day asking to be anointed with the oil of gladness in all that I do and in every sphere of my life. By the oil of gladness, I declare an endless and overflowing gladness in my life, family, career, finances, business, projects, health, ministry, and all that concerns me in the name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN!
