DEVOTION ~ SACRED ASSEMBLIES
Theme: Sacred Assemblies
Text: Amos 5:21&22
21 “I hate, I despise your feast days, and I do not savor your sacred assemblies. 22 Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings."
Coming before God's presence is not a twinkle one but a lifestyle devoid of disobedience. If we live a double life; enjoy worldly passion but display gymnastics of holiness during our assemblies, God will not accept such double life. For He has said to the Laodicean church; "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." (Revelations 3:15&16)
God will not accept the sacrifice of bulls, rams or grain. The kind of sacrifice He requires of us is our heart and pure devotion. We ought to present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto the Lord. Let our sacred assemblies (congregation) be filled with spiritual outflow where the Holy Spirit manifest Himself in us collectively and individually irrespective of where we find ourselves. As true worshippers we ought to worship the Lord in truth and in spirit.
Prayer: Dear God, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing and acceptable in Your sight as a living sacrifice in Jesus' name. AMEN!
