DEVOTION ~ THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST

Theme: The Spirit of Christ 
Text: Romans 8:9-11

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.


In yesterday's devotion, we looked at whether our ways pleases the Lord and how best we can flee from being carnally minded. In today's devotion we will be looking at the Spirit of Christ which every child of God must possess. When we come to Christ, we become new creations in His likeness. We therefore possess His nature and His Spirit indwells us. We become spiritual beings that operate more in the spirit than in the flesh. 

Having the Spirit of Christ in us means, sin has been defeated and we have the garment of Christ's righteousness on. We live no longer to please ourselves but Christ. Our ways corresponds to the will of God and we are able to boldly come before God's presence. The power of death which is the fruit of sin, has no hold over our bodies when we are possessed with the spirit of Christ. We attain eternal life in Him and so will receive the resurrection or/and the rapture with the fullness of joy. Let's avail ourselves therefore unto God to receive the Spirit of Christ.


Prayer: Abba! Father, breath Your breath upon me and take away any spirit within me that's not of You. Breath Lord upon me and let me be filled with the Spirit of Christ. Lead me O Holy Spirit of God in the path of righteousness in all that I do. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
