DEVOTION ~ CALLED ACCORDING TO GOD'S PURPOSE
Theme: Called According to God's Purpose
Text: Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
There's a purpose for our existence. We've been called by God to fulfill a purpose on this earth. If we walk in the will of God, all things will work out for our good. It's not automatic that things will work out for our good, it will work out if it's in conformity to God's plans and purpose for our lives. Before we were formed in our mothers' wombs, God knew us, He sanctified us and ordained us. (Jeremiah 1:5)
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Indeed, God knows us individually and has predestined us to be set apart in the image of His Beloved Son. He has called us from our lowly places (the place of filth and sin) to attain righteousness not of works but by the Righteousness of Christ if we believe in Him. This justifies us free from the bondage of sin to divine liberty in Christ Jesus.
If we are called according to God's purpose, it implies He foreknew us, predestined us by what He knows we are capable of doing and even in those that we cannot do, He grants us grace to carry them out. Having predestined us, then we are called to the Righteousness of Christ and justified us such by the speaking Blood of the Lord. God then crowns us in glory; the glory to overcome, to advance the Gospel, to be limitless, to be victorious in all areas of our lives. In that regard, all things shall work out for our good.
Prayer: Abba! Father, thank You for calling me out of darkness to Your marvelous glory. It is written, whom you predestined You called, and whom You called, You justified, whom You justified You glorified; I decree in the name of Jesus Christ, I am living a predestined life in the Lord as I've been called to. I break away from the bondage of sin and its consequences into the righteousness in Christ. Therefore, I no longer live under pain but in divine perpetual glory in all that I do and in every sphere of my life. It is established as God's Word is established. AMEN!
Amen!
