DEVOTION ~ YOUR JOY WON'T BE TAKEN

Theme: Your Joy Won't Be Taken
Text: John 16:19-22

19 Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, “Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’? 20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21 A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

In yesterday's devotion we saw how our "a little while" can be of great importance in making as attain the crown of victory. In today's devotion, we will be looking at, "Your joy won't be taken". In every situation in life, if only we will focus on the result than the pain, we will not be denied the joy of being fulfilled.

Jesus encourages us that no struggle is permanent but for a while. Though an expectant mother may experience pain during labour, yet once the baby is born, her pain disappear. Her joy of having a child has not been denied her. Let us therefore not give up on our goals in life for its fruit surpasses the struggle that comes with it. Jesus loves us and in His power, our joy cannot be taken from us.

Prayer: Dear God, give me oil in my lamp keep me burning. Given me oil in my lamp I pray. O God, keep me burning till the break of day. Strengthen me in all situations and help me out in victory in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
