DEVOTION ~ AS HE PLEASES
Theme: As He Pleases
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:15-19
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
We established yesterday God used our body to teach us the unified body of Christ. In today's devotion, we would looked at how it pleases the Lord to position the various parts of the body. It pleases the Lord to grant us diverse roles in our families and in the Kingdom of God. The variations complement each other so work will be harmonious and as well move the families and the Kingdom strategically forward.
If each of us begin to give excuses in the roles we ought to play to bring about change and transformation in our families and in the church, things will grow worse. It pleases the Lord to position you as an organizer, breadwinner, assistant, security personnel, an intercessor, amongst others because you have the requisite grace to carry out the duty to an expected end. However, if you feel not recognized or appreciated and withdraw, you will create a vaccum for the devil to manipulate things and distort the progress of the family or the church. Whatever capacity you're serving, know that it pleases the Lord to have you there so act wisely and humbly.
Prayer: Dear God open my eyes to identify the role it pleases You I perform in my family, church and community. Grant me the strength to perform it well to Your glory. Take away pride and cynical ways out of my life and grant me the faithful servant's heart in all that I do in the name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN!
Amen!
