DEVOTION ~ BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY

Theme: Baptized Into One Body
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

Can you take a good look at yourself? How will you describe yourself? What makes up your body? God always uses what's around us to illustrate His ways with us. In this instance, He used our body. Though our body is one, yet we have different parts that play vital roles in their composition. So are we also in Christ; though we are from diverse backgrounds, yet in Christ we are one.

The baptism we received is unto redemption in the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit is a seal of our adoption in Christ Jesus. We have all partaken of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through eucharis. There's therfore no distinction among us as the body of Christ. We are of different parts of the body (each has a role to play in the church) but of one Body in the Lord.

Prayer: Divine Triune God, in Your nature have Thou made us in Christ. Teach us to love each part of the Body of Christ and to live in harmony at all times in the name of Jesus Christ have we asked. AMEN!
