DEVOTION ~ MORE THAN GOLD

Theme: More than Gold 
Text: Genesis 2:10-14

10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.



Often if we sit back and look at the Hand work of God, we will see clearly that even the richest man on earth is the most miserable man in heaven. This is because, the Creator has but given a fraction of His wealth to that man. Eden is a pure beauty or tourist attraction to behold. The four riverheads from the river that waters Eden gave detailed account of the awe nature of Eden.

Dear beloved in the Lord, if we have Jesus, we have something more than gold. For His Spirit can make our lives far beautiful than these four riverheads. The pureness of the gold shall be the heart He will give us to make us good and adorn us more with the fruit of the Spirit. Our hearts shall overflow with living water. Just as these riverheads became a point of revelation, so will God open our eyes to behold His glory all the days of our lives. (John 7:37&38; Daniel 10:4). 


Prayer: Most Perfect Potter, thank You for the awesome display of Your Handwork in nature. Shape me to suit Your will and to accomplish my God given assignment in the beauty of Your glory. In name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
