DEVOTION ~ LAY IT BEFORE THE LORD

Theme: Lay it Before the Lord 
Text: Luke 4:40&41

40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. 41 And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.


 Challenges in life are bound to happen but the decision to how best to curb or avoid them depend on the individual. In the text of today, those with various diseases were brought before the Lord for Him to heal them. That's a good initiative from the individuals and their loved ones. When life hit you badly and you seem not to have a way out because the experts say it is impossible to solve the problem, just lay it before the Lord. To lay it before the Lord implies asking God to intervene in the situation. This is because, the challenge itself knows, nothing is impossible with the Lord. Just as the demons came out of the afflicted declaring who Jesus is, that's how the challenges in our lives bow when we lay them before the Lord.


Prayer: Dear God, thank You for granting me grace to boldly present myself in Your presence. I lay my challenges in life into Your Hands. Help me by the power of the Holy Spirit to conquer them all in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
