DEVOTION ~ SEEK THE FRUIT

Theme: Seek the Fruit
Text: Philippians 4:17&18

17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

In yesterday's devotion we saw how the Apostle Paul learned how to receive and give from the Philippians. We are continuing today to see why he is much passionate about the gifts from the Philippians. He was not after the gift but the fruit that abounds to their account. We are known by the fruit we bear; if we bear bad fruit then we have automatically disqualified ourselves as children of God, however if we bear good fruit we will be identified with the Lord.

Dear beloved in the Lord, do not just pray for God to send you helpers, pray also that God makes you a helper to someone. The Lord is pleased with a cheerful giver, his gift comes with a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. Seek the fruit of a giver and you will be a blessing to many generations.

Prayer: Thank You Lord that by the grace of the Holy Spirit, we can bear fruit of the Spirit. Come Spirit of the Living God and help me to bear fruit of giving generously. Make me a blessing to my generation and beyond in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
