DEVOTION ~ AN UNCLEAN DEMON IN THE SYNAGOGUE

Theme: An Unclean Demon in the Synagogue
Text: Luke 4:33&34

33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

The synagogue where believers meet has been filled with an unclean demon. Oh mine! The devil attacks just anywhere he is given the chance. The spirit of the unclean demon knows its place is not in the synagogue but it was there causing all the havoc it could until Jesus came there. Dear beloved in the Lord, if Christ takes sit in your heart and life, demons will flee at your sight. Just as the demon possessed man asked Jesus, "What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us?" so will the demons around you tremble if you have Jesus.

It's amazing how the demon possessed could easily identify the Christ but some believers find it difficult to. You can only know the Lord if you keep a good relationship with Him through prayer and study of His Word. Do not forget the devil once lived with God before he was cast down. Christ did not come with the intention of destroying anyone but to save. His salvation comes to break the yoke of sin's oppression in your life.

Prayer: Father of life, I thank You for drawing my attention to how the devil takes sit at places he is not even invited. Come Holy Spirit into my heart, soul, spirit and mind that the devil cannot find a place in my life. Holy One of God, in Your Name have I asked. AMEN!
