DEVOTION ~ WHAT A WORD THIS IS!

Theme: What a Word This is! 
Text: Text 4:35-37

35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. 36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” 37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.



In yesterday's devotion we saw how an unclean demon was in the synagogue. This unclean demon was quick to identify the Lord and asked if He was there to destroy him. The Lord's response and the reaction of the people is what will be our study for the day. The Lord did not say much words; “Be quiet, and come out of him!” Immediately the demon came out of the man. 

At the Word of the Lord, demons tremble and obey the command without hesitating. It's in this amazement the people said, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” Dear beloved in the Lord, employ the Word in prayer so you can pull down satanic strongholds in operation in your life. The Word is powerful and so you must never live a day without making use of the Word of God. 


Prayer: Thank You God for the power and potency of Your Word. Glory be to Your Name for enabling me to also employ the Word at all times. Holy Spirit divine I decree my words comes from You in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
