DEVOTION ~ WHEN GRACE SPEAKS!
Theme: When Grace Speaks!
Text: Luke 4:25-27
25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
In moments when you feel left out and unwanted, remember God hasn't given up on you yet. He still cares for you. In yesterday's devotion we saw how the Lord was asked by His own people to heal Himself. In response to that, He made reference to two great events of old; the widow of region of Sidon called Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian.
Grace prevailed for these ones to receive divine intervention in their moments of distress. When the widow thought she would be preparing her last meal, grace says, you're now starting. Likewise when Naaman thought nothing can be done about his leprosy, a servant girl gave him the clue to his healing. Even with all signs of pride and faithlessness, yet grace spoke on his behalf when he carried out the instructions of the prophet. What else can change your story apart from grace? Your uniqueness depends on grace. Let grace speak for you and your family.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for teaching me in Your Word how gracious You can be even to the worse sinner. Guide me by the power of the Holy Spirit to do away with doubts and trust You're able to do all things for me. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
