DEVOTION ~ THE LORD'S JUDGEMENT

Theme: The Lord's Judgement
Text: Jeremiah 1:16

16 I will utter My judgments against them concerning all their wickedness,  because they have forsaken Me, burned incense to other gods, worshipped the works of their own hands.

In yesterday's devotion, we saw how the Lord can send or allow the enemy to attack us if we fail to adhere to His Word. Today's text opens our understanding of why the Lord's judgment comes upon us. The judgement of the Lord is just and very fair devoid of discrimination. His judgement is basically about our deeds, especially the awful ones. Judah is judged by the Lord for wickedness and idolatry.

God is displeased with the wicked and does not condone evil. If we fail to love our neighbours and show compassion towards others, we are inviting the wrath of the Lord. The world is filled with evil and wickedness but that should not be mentioned among us as children of the Most High God. Likewise must idolatry not exist in our midst. Bowing down to idols made of our own hands is an abomination before the Lord.

In this dispensation, technological tools have become idols in the lives of many. Families, friends, and even business associates do not have good relationships because concentrations are on these devices than on one's fellow human beings. Some do not even have time to study the Bible as their focus is all on games, movies and other carnal driven kinds of literature on these devices. The sure judgement of God awaits such souls.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your warnings come timely to redeem than to condemn. Help me by the strength of the Holy Spirit, to live a life devoid of wickedness and idolatry. Renew my mind and heart in the things of Your Kingdom and make me a faithful servant all the days of my life in the name of Jesus Christ have I prayed. AMEN!
