DEVOTION ~ BE A BARNABAS!
Theme: Be A Barnabas!
Text: Acts 9:27&28
26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
In yesterday's devotion, we saw how the apostles let Saul through the city wall to escape the wicked schemes of the Jews. By the mercy of God, he was able to journey to Jerusalem safely but met another opposition. His previous life of persecuting the apostles made the disciples in Jerusalem not trust he has been transformed.
The Lord used Barnabas to change the story in Jerusalem. Dear beloved in the Lord, seek to unite people than sow the seed of discord. Let truth proceed from your lips than revenge. In our Christian walk, there's no payback time. So learn to tolerate other believers in the Lord and ensure to promote the will of God. Barnabas did not judge Saul but gave him the chance for the Lord's will to be done. That's the spirit you must possess as a child of God - Be Barnabas in your family, workplace, community and wherever you find yourself.
PRAYER: Dear God, help me to possess the spirit of resolving issues and bringing peace among the brethren. Spirit of the Living God, divinely open the eyes of my understanding to know what to say as a witness at any given time. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
