DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU RICH OR POOR?

Theme: Are You Rich or Poor? 
Text: Proverbs 13:7

7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.


Today's text will be looked at from two perspectives; the physical and spiritual. In our normal living, some who do not have yet will force to look as though they have. This puts great pressure on them and drains them financially and emotionally. Dear beloved in the Lord, do not kill yourself to please people who will mock you when you fail woefully. Instead, invest your resources in things that will bring honour to your name. Live simple and look good. 

In Christ, we have great riches. Enjoying the pleasure of this age does not guarantee great riches. It will amount to nothing as the desire of the soul to be saved will not be met. If you have Christ you are saved and have great riches. Taking clues from the rich man and Lazarus, we learned how their lives ended after death. If you have no spiritual gift or divine connection, you are very miserable. I saw a signpost that touched me so well and it reads; KNOW JESUS, KNOW LIFE! All this statement is communicating is if you have Jesus you have life and the reverse is true without Him.


PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your immeasurable riches in Christ Jesus. Help me to live each day knowing in You I lack nothing and to walk diligently according to Your purpose and plan for my life. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
